In time for #BalikEskwela2025 this week, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that the student discount on LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3 has been increased from 20% to 50% starting today, June 20.

This follows the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ease the burden on students by offering more affordable fares.

The 50% student discount also applies to students enrolled in postgraduate studies and can be used on the train lines daily—including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Students need only to present their valid ID or enrollment or registration form to avail of the discount.
